For a while, I didn't want to install wordpress on my site.
It drives me crazy with the plugins and themes etc.
Plus, always looking for tutorials for how to do this and that etc.

As a coder, it doesn't seem to be easy to style it the way I want to.
Because you need a plugin to do custom CSS. 😒
And there are premium themes and plugins, and paid.

So the paid versions are the ones I'd need to do what I want.
When you're first starting out, you may not have the cash to spend
getting set up, etc...

Etc.... Etc.... (I'm feeling redundant today!) 😂

A well known marketer is quoted as saying:
"If you can't afford to spend $200/month on your business...
You shouldn't be in business...." -RB.

I'll quote him with his initials.
Because I don't like talking about him (or his platform).
He said this quote in a video he did.
He was talking about his competitors (another platform)
that was under pricing him.
(Probably still is). 😂

The thing is with the new platform... (Not as new anymore)
Was that the ONLY payment method they had was PayPal.
A lot of people had their PayPal accounts closed, permanently.
So when that happened, they lost the ability to pay for the platform,
AND they lost the 'grandfathered in' status. 😒
Because their accounts closed due to non-payment
(because they couldn't have a backup payment method). 😒

So they screwed themselves AND their customers on that.

The platforms I'm talking about are site builders.

If I was a bomb at programming, I just would do it myself.
I'm a coder, not a programmer, so I still rely on platforms
that already have a CMS (content management system)
even though most (not all) of the platforms SUCK!
(Or elements of them SUCK!)

But this is coming from MY perspective
as a coder who wants to be able to do more.

The reason why I even mentioned that quote is....
To people like RB, it's about the money.
It's obviously not about the customers.
He's all proud of his 'product'
(As generic as it is....) 😴

Yeah, to make money, you gotta spend money.
Whether it's on platforms or whatever,
or training, or inventory....

But, the more affordable something is,
the more it will sell
because the people who can afford it will be able to afford it.

This is part of the reason why I tell people about FREE tools.
People are already spending an 💪 and a 🦵 on products
and services for their business, if they CAN.

Those who can barely afford to be in business...
Are struggling.

People who are making money, hand over fist, like RB,
don't want to think about what it would be like
not to be able to afford $200/month on ONE tool.

Because other tools cost money, too.

And yes, they are in business to make money.
That is the whole point.

BUT, what I'm saying is it's also ABOUT the customers.
If you show that you care about your customers....
And they aren't just a digit to you,
then you stand to gain a lot more in the long run.
If it weren't for the customers, there wouldn't BE a business.
If nobody wanted to 'rent' his product or services...
He wouldn't be making money.
He wouldn't be bragging,
and he'd be eating a nice BIG slice of Humble Pie.

His quote did NOT make me want to buy his 'product.'
No matter what the 'benefits' may be.
His attitude alone doesn't justify me paying that dude $200/month.

He said some similiar stuff about another competitor.
Comparing 'active members'
to someone who JUST started in the market.
Not a fair comparison,
but AGAIN, his attitude SUCKS
and it doesn't make me want to do business with him, period.

THINK ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS.
PROVIDE THEM WITH VALUE! ALWAYS!
Show that you care! It shows!
It really shows when you don't....

If it's a free training, it's a free training.
If it's a free sample, whatever it is....

I know.... A lot of people have said that if it's free,
they won't appreciate it....

It's like people have associated the VALUE of something
with the COST of something.

Just because it costs $200/month....
Doesn't mean it's WORTH $200/month.
Not with the "I'm better than you" attitude.
Not with the "You shouldn't be in business" attitude.
Not with the "I DGAF about my customers" attitude.

None of that says I should pay him $200/month.
Sorry. NOT sorry.

Customer appreciation GOES A LONG WAY, PERIOD.
Show your customers that you VALUE their business
and they will continue to do business with you.
They will also give others reasons
why THEY should do business with you, too.

OR.... show them you DGAF about them, and lose them. Forever.
Even before you get them....
(DRIVE THEM STRAIGHT TO YOUR COMPETITION,
YOU MAY AS WELL....)

Anyway, with the cursing aside....
And my personal opinions aside....

Just remember, people are watching you.
When they get to know you, they'll be watching.
They'll quote you like I did with RB.
I don't care how good his books are or how much he is worth....
His attitude doesn't do it for me, period.
Even if his 'product' was more 'affordable.'

All he seems to care about is how many books he sells,
how many 'active members' he has,
how much money he's making.

He doesn't look at his 'active members' as customers.
There is ZERO customer appreciation
with MOST businesses.
As a result, they LOSE customers.

Not to mention customer service....
If your customer service SUCKS, you'll lose customers.

It doesn't mean you have to kiss their butts....
It means that you don't treat them like CRAP.
AND expect them to want to do business with you in the future....

For an example: (It has to do with business and customer service).

I've paid for certain services and got ripped off.
I'm currently dealing with lawyers and insurance agents in one case.
Because I was going to go on vacation
and the bus we were on, CRASHED. We got INJURED.
The customer service for that company was super CRAP. 😡
It took 5 DAYS for them to ship our luggage back
to a city that is only 5 hours away! 😡
If your service INJURES someone, make them a priority!
I probably wouldn't have gone to the lengths that I had to go
just to get COMPENSATION
IF THEY OFFERED ME COMPENSATION.
(AT LEAST REFUNDED MY TICKETS,
PROVIDED SOME ACCOMODATION,
ENSURED THAT WE GOT OUR LUGGAGE PROMPTLY!)
INSTEAD OF HAVING TO CHASE THEM DOWN...
AND GO THROUGH LAWYERS AND INSURANCE... 😡
Then, that would have improved my experience with them.
Greatly, even significantly.
Instead of the 'customer care line'
giving me different numbers to call
and running me in circles
because nobody wanted to actually deal with the mess or with me.
Or even take the blame for something that was their fault. 😡

I left messages, I got angry. I was a customer.
We paid to get to a destination.
They had one job to do. Get us there, safely.

It wasn't JUST the accident. It wasn't JUST the injuries.
It was how we were TREATED in light of it ALL.
It made me NOT trust them.
It made me NOT want to pay for their services again.
It left a sour taste in my mouth.

Another example:
I had a business meeting with someone at a business.
Instead of meeting with me,
he sent someone else to deal with me. 😒

That didn't sit well with me.
Honor your meetings.

Meet with the people you're supposed to meet with.
Because they won't be customers very long, if you don't.
THAT is poor customer service. 😒

For another example of customer service,
I had someone make a mistake when it came to an account.
Instead of blaming someone else for THEIR mistake....
They actually were decent and sent me an email
with a sincere apology!
That is what we like to see in business. 😍
I have MORE respect for those who can and will admit they were wrong.
People are bound to make mistakes. We aren't flawless human beings.
Nobody is perfect. Nobody.

But the DECENT thing to do is ADMIT it.
And then, correct it. 😎

Customer appreciation,
Customer service,
and customer experience
are ALL very important.
To the overall experience.

If they have a great experience, they will return.
They'll even rave about you. 😎

No matter what their experience, good or bad,
they will tell people about it.
They are most likely going to talk about CRAP experiences, though.
CRAP experiences aren't just frustrating, they are stressful.
Nobody wants added stress. Goes without saying, truly.

Something to think about. 🤔
The last few days, I've been recording videos.
I'm just as crap narrating as I'd be on camera, hahaha.
(Debating whether or not I should release the last ones I did).
I could leave them there and be all like...
"Look how bad I was when I first started!" 😂

I've found a bunch of free tools...
On top of the tools I've been making videos of.

I got a list of some pretty cool ones to add to the list on here.
It'll end up being a pretty long list.
I found some really good ones that I've been paying for, for free.

Anyway, been testing out some free stuff
and want to test some other stuff out.

I want to see what can be done with it.
Specifically these tools by Growth Tools.
They will be added to the list, too.

Found some good videos on youtube, also.
There are a bunch of teachers on Youtube,
doing vlogs and stuff, teaching how they use some of the tools.

I find that teaching, coaching, and mentoring etc is the way to go.
People pay a lot of money for information, but to be taught....
That is a service....

And, yes, some people are hard to teach.
And yes, some things are hard to learn.
But we do our best with what we've got.

Doing videos is a different beast for me.
For one, I don't like going on camera.
For two, I sound like a teenager. (It's true). 😂

I don't script any of my videos.
And I mess up, a lot.

Luckily I can edit my screen captures,
but editing is another beast for me, too.

I'd spend over an hour filming something that turns out
less than 10 minutes long.
Just for having to restart the video... Many times
And having to pause for noise in the hallway...
Having to pause for many reasons.

And I'm self concious. So I get nervous while recording.
All the while knowing that I'm messing up.

Someone told me: "Done is better than perfect."

So I try to have a task to complete.
Whether it is recording, or writing, or research....

Some days, I learn a lot, but don't get a lot done.
Some days, I get a lot done, but haven't learned a lot.
So I try to balance it out, the best that I can.

And one of the best ways to learn and only ways to really learn it
is by actually doing it.
That is where the testing comes in.
At times I feel like I'm testing myself, too.
To see how much I can take... Hahaha. 😂

To be fair, I'm trying to get where I'd like to be in a couple of years.
And that's a bit of a stretch from where I'm at. Honestly.

Been looking at the e-learning model, though.
I was looking at it a few years ago, too.

I just know that with my voice, it would be hard.
Maybe there is some secret prize for worst tutorials hahaha. 😂
People would buy it just to see how bad it is 😂

Seriously, PLR can be used for online courses.
It can be used for a variety of things.
Blog posts, pod casts, videos, courses, membership sites etc.

Been looking at Google Slides. 😍
It'll be in one of my next videos.

Saw some teachers doing some pretty neat stuff.
Including animation, with slides.
Then she went to a website and imported her slides,
and her slides were turned into a .gif.

So there's a lot I've been learning about over the past couple of days.
I'll be adding some more videos on here.

Videos that I find helpful.... I'd love to share.
So I'll be adding some of my stuff with other people's stuff.
Nothing wrong with: "Hey, I like this. Hope you do, too."

Thanks for the views on my latest video....
Much appreciated! 😍

Google has a bunch of free tools to use.
There are some I didn't know existed. Honestly.

A couple of them are:

Google Sites

and Google Classrooms

I'm about to test these out.
And I'll be actually starting a YouTube channel....
To make some videos about cool things I find out about online.

(Making videos isn't my favorite thing to do,
but I upgraded on Screencast-o-matic
just so that I can make some videos to put up on youtube.

I'll make some unlisted videos just to put on this blog.

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to my readers.
You're giving me the encouragement to keep moving forward.
I appreciate you stopping by 🥰

Google sells domain names, too.
I found this out because I wanted a custom domain for this blog.
So you have the abilitiy to create a little site with google sites
and connect a custom domain to it.

Google Sites is pretty neat, as far as what you can do with it.
It's one of those editor type platform things,
but you can get creative with it.

This is why I love knowing some basic coding stuff.
Because I can add custom stuff to it.

I'll be showing you how to do stuff like this in the videos I'll be making.
I'm going to recommend some channels that I personally subscribe to.

Anyway, if you can't afford the tools like ClickFunnels....
And you want to get a little site out there,
even to pitch a product or something like that....

And yes, you can integrate stuff with it if you can embed it.
The embed tool thing is awesome.
That's what I use to put custom stuff on it.

I've been messing with it the last couple of days.
And I think it's neat.
There are some things that could be better,
but it's FREE, you can make as many as you want....
It's hosted BY Google.... It lives on your google drive.

You can use it in conjunction with google docs....
You can also use it in conjunction with other google tools...
There's quite a bit you can do with it.

Google Classrooms. I haven't tested it out a lot.
I think it's cool that it exists.
You can create a classroom
and the only ones who can enter have a code to enter.

So if you want to make a mini course, it's a good thing to test out.
If you don't have one of those fancy sites
with all those plug ins and stuff....
(Wordpress drives me crazy....
This is part of the reason that I'm using Blogger.
The other part is that Blogger is awesome!)

Check these out if you want to.
They can be a neat and free alternative
to using sites and tools if you're absolutely broke
and just starting out.
Marketing is a struggle to get into.
It's more than just building a website or a blog
and hoping that people visit it...

Pointless to quit when a year from now someone could be
somewhere else entirely.

That's the hope people have when they start an online business.
They want to see some results for the effort they are putting in.

Obviously, the results depend on the actions they take, or don't take.

Hard to expect changes when nothing changes.
When we keep doing what we've always done,
we'll continue to get what we've always gotten.

It takes a lot of learning.
Even just to be a business owner.
Let alone all this marketing stuff....

There's a lot people know and charging a lot of money to teach.
What happens when you don't have thousands of dollars for specialized training?

It gets harder to learn what we aren't exposed to.
It's easier for people who know other businesspeople to talk business with.
Instead of trying to figure it out on their own.

This is why when I learn stuff, I want to write about it.

But at the same time, I'm still trying to get myself set up.
It's easier to set things up when you've done it before.
The more experience you get, the easier it gets.

The less experience you have, the harder it is.
Especially when you're the only one you've got.

I know. I've been there.
There's still stuff I'm learning every day.
But at the same time, I want to be excited about this.
I want to be able to talk about it with my friends
but they don't get what I'm doing or why I'm doing it.
They think all my interests when it comes to this stuff is only 'hobby'
And they tell me to choose between 'hobby' and 'career.'
They have their opinions about what is realistic.
Even though ecommerce is worth trillions of dollars.

Sometimes I'd just like to talk about it. Y'know?
Very few people I know have anything to do with internet marketing.
And the very few people I know of....
Are too busy to talk about it haha.
They are busy doing it.

My friends think this is all about building websites, but it's not.
It's about more than that. A lot more.
Having certain pages, like landing pages, squeeze pages, sales pages...
And even bridge pages.... It's more about having a system set up...
And that means a lot of planning
unless you already have several systems....

Then you could plug and play...

But, when you are starting and you want to put out something good...

I was checking out one those webpage builder things.
I'm not going to name it on here.
I admire people who come out with their own software
or are trying to compete with bigger companies,
providing a similar service, etc.

It's just that a lot of the software I've used
when it comes to website builders.... It's pretty frustrating.
So many limitations.
And a lot of the time, it's a WYSIWYG editor thing.
And you can only do so much with those.
(Not saying I expect it to be perfect or anything),
I'm just saying that they don't always make things easier.

I was talking to a friend the other night about websites.
He said: "Would you rather put like 90+ hours into a website
and risk people not liking it or put that time into something else?"

Firstly, who's to say everyone's going to hate it?
What if it's just diffferent enough that it stands out a bit more?

Secondly, if a webpage has to be built, so what if it takes a long time?

Personally, I'd rather put the effort into it and not just slap something together.
That's what a lot of people do. They just slap things together.
It took me a while to be content with the design for this blog.
I changed the theme a bunch of times.
I tried to import a theme, but I couldn't insert an image into the header.

Getting set up is the challenge. Once you're rocking, you're rocking.

Gotta be willing to suck at stuff to get better at it.
For me, it's making videos.
And a lot of other things.

But that just means there is room to improve
and at least I'm willing to honestly admit
that I suck at those things.

We all have our challenges and limitations when starting out.
And a lot of it has to do with sucking at things
(that we haven't done before or don't do often).
And things we don't really want to do,
(we can outsource stuff).

This brings me to PLR. Instead of having to write their own stuff,
they can take it from PLR, repupose it and rebrand it.

I'm going to be writing more about this in the next few posts.

Abby @ Lucky Star PLRhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00113102496385907329noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687662540420889183.post-4610955871631223182020-07-10T15:25:00.001-07:002020-07-10T15:25:54.558-07:00A Bit About SEO & Business

Been curious about how Google ranks keywords.
I read in this article that Google doesn't support
meta tags for keywords.

I wanted to add some keywords somewhere
to see if I can pop up in the search engine.

I'm in the top 2 for the search words "lucky star plr blog"
and only the posts I wrote about blogging show up there.
It's cool that I'm in the first 2 for those words.
But I'd like to learn to rank for more words.

I was reading that the meta tags don't work for SEO anymore.

I was also on a call with someone from the bank.
Setting up my business account.

He pointed out that the Legal name of my business is the same as my name
because I registered a sole proprietorship.
I want it to be the name of he business I registered
as I can collect payments as my business name
and not as my personal name, if that makes sense.

So I tried calling Service Canada and it was frustrating
because they didn't answer my question
about changing my license
so that I could accept payments as my business name.

Can I or can I not get the name of my business
as the legal name of the business on my license?

That is all that I'm asking.

It can be confusing for a new business owner.
There are laws and rules and all kinds of things
that I'm still learning.

But when you have questions, it's important to get answers.
And it would be nice if the people we talked to
understood what we are asking about in the first place
so that we can get those answers.

I'm asking questions about a license.
To make changes to the license.
If changes need to be made, and in this case they do.

Because if I charge them as a business owner,
it is differently from charging them as a business.

I have to get this straightened out before I can even start doing business.

I've considered making an online course.
Been watching videos about Udemy and other platforms.

I've seen full courses on torrent sites
so content is apprently being ripped off from Udemy somehow.

Just was saying that there ARE full courses on there....
Not sure how they get courses from there to put on torrent sites.
Just an observation that it's happening.
*Be warned*

Anyway, there are free softwares you can use
to record your screen.

The free version of Screencast-o-matic is only for personal use
(at least I'm pretty sure that it is).
On the free version, they also put their branding on the video
and you're limited to 15 minutes per video.
They have a paid version (which I'm thinking of looking into).
(Right now, I'm limited in what I can do).

Which is why I've been working on blogging
and checking out free platforms, software, and options.

Also to show you that a lot can be done with little money.

My suggestion is to turn PLR into your own video content.
You own your content.
That is the purpose of repurposing PLR content.
This is why it is an asset.

(I was lucky to get access to a cool sofware for a small investment)
as a bonus for getting a product through a friend's affiliate link.

The best value as far as making videos goes....
As far as software.... I'd say it's Open Broadcaster Studio.
You can do green screen stuff with it, too.
I heard about it from someone who was using it
to make videos for his business. Promo stuff.

He did a good job with it and had fun with it.
You can tell he was having fun with it, it showed
and it kept people tuning in to watch him.

Anyway, he was using a FREE software
to help make a name for himself and for his business.

You can do whatever you want with the videos you make with it.
You can upload them to facebook, youtube.... Etc.

Not only can you record your screen with OBS,
you can do live streams with it.
You can live stream straight onto youtube with it.
(I'm not 100% sure, but you may be able to live stream onto facebook, too)
I'm sure there are tools you can use to livestream onto facebook, though.

But live streaming onto youtube is pretty cool.
You can also live stream onto Twitch with OBS.
If that's something you want to do, that's cool, too.

I found this guide to OBS:
(I have a link to OBS on my list of free tools on this blog)

Maybe I'll put it in a PDF format. Make a download of it.
It's handy to keep a list handy.
I've been writing down things to do and get done
so that I can keep moving forward.

I have to remind myself that it's good to take breaks sometimes.
I want to get things done as quickly as possible.
There are lots of times that I need to start over.
I redesigned my website a bunch of times.

I'm trying something new with my design, yet again.

A part of it is wanting to present something different and original.
Another part of it is wanting to do a good job on it.
I know it won't be perfect.
Especially at first. I'm still learning stuff.

I'm into coding, as I mentioned in a pervious post...
(The Site That Started It All)
I wrote about how I got inspired to learn how to write code.

I'll be writing in the next post about a cool text effect I found out about.

Was just watching this video by Adam Payne.
He's a well-known marketer in at least one of the groups I'm in.
(And I'm a member of his group).

I didn't ask him if I could share it on the blog,
so hopefully he doesn't mind.
(If he does, I'll remove it if he asks me to).

Anyway, the video is about 6 examples of youtube channels
where people don't show their faces in their channels.

This is a big thing for me.
I've considered making some videos, but I don't want to show my face.
(Even putting my name and profile photo is a big thing for me.)

Adam was pointing out that with all the channels,
what they had in common is consistency.
Even once a week, is still being consistent.

Been building up the blog, and I actually like writing,
so blogging isn't a 'chore' for me. I enjoy it.

I may not get the viewership I'd like, but I just got this started
and I haven't been running any ads
because I haven't gotten my products set up, yet, (but will soon).

I just want to hae things set up before I start driving traffc, etc.
But this doesn't mean that I can't do other things
like write blog posts, or make videos, etc.

There's always something you can do while you are working on other things.

Here's the video:
It's official! We're on Facebook now! How exciting!

What I wanted to share with you today
is how to get a 'like' button for your website.

I found these very helpful instructions that I want to pass along.

There is a script that you add onto your page,
then where you want the button to go, you add it there.

You put in the url of the page you want to 'like'
and it generates the code for you to add to your page.

It was really easy to do on blogger.
That's what I love about blogger.
It's easy to add widgets and things like that.

Also found a tool to generate a logo.
So now I have a new logo for my business.
I added a list of free tools and will be adding more to it.

Been working on an e-book called: "The Art of Selling Online."
This will be FREE and I'll announce how you can get it when it's ready.

Also, I'll be trying some things with this blog.
Testing some things out, to see what I can do with it.
I have some ideas and want to see if they will work.

Another thing.... I will be sharing some videos on here soon.
A marketing friend is putting out some great marketing videos
on his youtube channel. He gave me permission to share them on here.

It's awesome to encourage one another.
Part of why I started this blog, actually.

I want to help to inspire and encourage others
to try new things, to check things out, to learn new stuff.
Stuff that can help you grow.
"The more you know, the more you grow."

Wasn't planning on doing this, but I wanted to show you
that you can still get views with ZERO followers.
As per the privacy policy, I won't show ALL the stats,
only the views....

I started this blog less than a week ago
and haven't driven ANY traffic to it, yet.

This is likely from people stumbling through the blogs
and coming across mine.

Zero followers so far.... Less than a week in....
Already over 100 views.
It's possible, folks! I'm showing you.

And I intend to showing you much, MUCH, MORE!
I may even make some videos, *cringe.*
I still shudder at the thought of going on video.

It won't stop me from showing videos or recommeding channels.
I'm all for promoting stuff that I think is good.

I want you to learn as much as I can show you.
As much as you can STAND.

But at the same time, I want to keep it light
as not to overwhelm you with the amount of info.

I'm learning stuff every day and still trying new stuff.
There are so many ways to start an income stream online.
I'll be talking about some.
The PLR I've got lined up is all in the MMO niche.
(Make Money Online).

We'll be talking about different niches and stuff like that, soon.
There are so many. MMO is an evergreen niche.
Which means that there are always going to be people
looking for ways to make money online.

Especially in the light of being quarantined....

There's a saying that goes:
"The people who sold the shovels to the miners
made more money than the miners."

That's referring to the "Gold Rush."
The ones selling the shovels were guaranteed to make money,
the ones digging for gold weren't.
Because they never knew when they were going to strike gold
or IF they were....
But, they knew there was gold "in them here hills." *Cue accent*

E-commerce is HUGE. Just last year ALONE,
it was worth 3.5 TRILLION dollars.
By next year it's expected to jump to 4.1 TRILLION dollars.

Guess who is getting a HUGE chunk of that?!
The people selling the TOOLS.

Think about it.... Autoresponder services... As one example.
Another example are payment processors....

Think about 5% of each transaction....
Which is what some payment processors charge....

That's a BIG chunk of pie.
And I bet it tastes really good!

There's a lot of good stuff on his channel
and I recommend that you check him out.

He started his channel just 2 years ago and has over 2 THOUSAND subscribers.
It's important to note that a lot of traffic comes from video marketing.

Video marketing is huge and youtube is a free platform.
Plus, you can make money from your youtube videos
in more ways than one.

You can put links in your description box.
And have a call to action in the video where you tell people to click the link.

Anyway, I had to scroll wayyyyy down to find Garry's first video.
I will be adding more to the blog as time goes on....

Without further Ado.... Here's Garry! Enjoy!
(And subscribe)!
PLR is content. A lot of it is in written form, like e-books.
Since you have private label rights to the content,
you can do as you wish with it.

You can use it for ad campaigns, email campaigns,
blog posts (if you're just getting started, even if you're not),
You can sell it as is... (Which I don't recommend
because it's WISE to go through it and EDIT it,
AND make it your own, ADD stuff to it.)

Because... There will be a lot of people selling it as is....
Which means that they will be putting out the EXACT content.
WITH all the typos! Why would you want to do that?!

Anyway, there are lots of ways you can repurpose the content.
There's going to be stuff coming up about this, I promise.

(I'm still getting things set up over here).
But when I do, I'll be able to put together some good stuff
and share more and more and more with you....

People are using the content in plr e-books to make videos, too.
They aren't just flipping e-books...

As I mentioned, I'll be sharing videos soon.

I just want to tell you the possibilities are VAST with PLR.
When you buy the rights to it, you can use it however you want to.
(Well, within reason... According to the license).

But if you want to just flip PDFs,
by all means flip 'em to your hearts' content.

Just saying that there is more you can do with PLR content
than just flipping e-books.

If you start blogging, you gotta keep writing.

And when you just start a blog, chances are,

you're not going to have an instant following
and get instant views....

However, you have to keep writing

as though you DO have an audience.
"What's the point of writing if nobody's going to read it?"

Someone asked me that once....

The point is that if you don't write,
there won't be anything TO read, period.

I've heard people say: "Blogs are dead...."
They aren't. People still like to read.

Especially if it's something they are going to learn from.

As a blogger, that's where YOU come in...
*Enter stage right*
YOU get to be the one they WANT to read about.

Keep putting out the posts for them to read
and if they like what they read, they'll want to read more.

After I release the e-book I'm currently working on...
"The Art of Selling Online"
I'll be working on "How To Turn Words Into Gold."

One particular blogger (Christian Mihai) I've been following
is the creator and author of

The Art of Blogging

As I'm writing this, that ONE blog has over 41 THOUSAND followers.
You can see why. He's good at writing, but not only that,
he's built a community around his blog.
He's not writing for himself, he's writing with his readers in mind.

How many followers would he have if he just wrote a few posts
and STOPPED writing before he got even 100 followers?
Certainly not 41 thousand....

It takes time. "Rome wasn't built in a day...." As they say.
Would the ancient ruins STILL be standing today
if they built the entire city in ONE day?
Probably not.

If you posted ALL your content in ONE day,
how much of it would people want to read?

For one of my blogs that I just posted poetry on....
As soon as I posted new poems, I had a fan reading them.
Granted, maybe a couple of actual fans. Just a couple,
But those were blogs I was posting to just to post on.

They weren't dedicated to any particular topic
and I wasn't driving traffic to those blogs, either.
They were more personal than anything.

The point is even a FEW fans... Is possible
WITHOUT driving traffic...
As long as your blog can be found on search engines....
Someone will find it. If they like it, they'll stick around.
BLOGGING ISN'T DEAD.
The fact that YOU are reading this right now PROVES it isn't.

Starting out can be a bit of a struggle.
Especially for new bloggers, but READ about blogging.
Follow other bloggers. Read other blogs.
You will find you 'voice.' Once you do, people will read your stuff.
BUT they can't read it if there's nothing to read....

It wasn't to be well known or well liked.
That's not why I started with this.
It was to try to prove something to myself. Not to anyone else.

There were times in the past that I was really struggling.
Even when I first started my business.

Luckily, I had a little bit of money saved up to get started.
But even that little bit of money wasn't going to do me much good
if I couldn't get 'the show on the road.'

Even when I started this blog, which wasn't too long ago,
I was wondering if anyone was going to read it.
I have a very few who still read my personal blog
and I keep it as anonymous as possible
because I don't want to mix my professional life
with my personal life.
Even before I became a business owner, I was blogging anonymously
and I prefered it that way.
I didn't want to put myself 'out there.'
And there are lots of reasons for that....

However, I had to start doing it and getting used to it
even with the apprehension or despite it.

Definitely more comfortable writing than I am with
getting in front of a camera....

I'm an introvert. But there are lots of internet marketers who are
and they have to push themselves to put themselves 'out there.'
Whether they like it or not.

I'm writing about it in a 'lead magnet' and taking a break from that
to write this. In it, I'm talking about how making yourself visible
inscreases brand awareness
and how buyers are more likely to buy from you, the more they know you.
And you are your brand. Especially for a sole proprietorship.

Also, it is then up to YOU to make or break your business.
That means you have a reputation at stake.
You can become infamous just as quickly as you become famous.

There are marketers who made some costly mistakes.
And those mistakes were publicized.

When you're a bigger name in the industry, people take notice
and when people take notice, they will talk about you.

When more people found out about who I am,
they started to watch me. "Who is she? What is she doing?"
I couldn't just simply keep my head down or just mind my business.
I was minding my business, but even then....
People started making it their business to get into mine.

Everyone's got an opinion and they aren't shy about voicing it.
Especially over social media.
Once word gets out that you did something or said something,
people know, and they REMEMBER.

Also, if someone you're friends with did something....
You become lumped in with them....

So when people started doing shady stuff, I couldn't associate with them.
When people started voicing opinions that weren't popular,
I couldn't associate with them.
I lost a lot of friends because of this.
Which is hard, because generally, I'm a loyal person.
Even to my detriment at times....

But for people to TRUST me, as a seller...
I had to do things ABOVE BOARD
and I even had to be careful about what I did and said behind closed doors.

Although there's still a such thing a personal privacy,
professionally, there isn't really such a thing.
When you're in business, you're in business
and that's what it's about.

If anything, it was to succeed to PROVE that if I can, so can YOU!

Before I started with this internet marketing stuff,
I always wondered how I got an email so fast
after I signed up for one of those free gifts....

As it turns out, there is a system set up by a service
called an autoresponder.

What it does is captures email addresses for you
of those people who sign up to get the free gift
or take the free course, or watch the free video....

Then it sends those people the information they requested.
Automatically. It automatically responds to them.
Which is why it is called an autoresponder.

Because business owners have a lot of stuff to do.
They can't sit around their offices and just send emails to people all day.
If that were the case, there wouldn't be a need for autoresponders.

But they are a really cool tool to use.
And they do exactly what they are designed to do.

However, you have to be aware that some people
will be using 'throwaway' email addresses
and sometimes the emails you send won't always hit their inboxes.
(In most cases they do, but there are times
that the emails hit another folder in your email
like promos or even spam.

So it is a good idea to check the deliverability of your emails
and check the bounce rates and this sort of thing.

It's also important to clean your list.
What that means is that you can remove people from your list
who aren't opening and reading your emails
and definitely remove email addresses if your emails are bouncing.
Which means that they are being sent to a closed or deleted account!

You want as many qualified buyers on your list as you can have.
Which are people who have bought from you before.
People who are likely to buy from you again.

Or even people who READ your emails.
Because they might forward your email to someone else to read.
And if they like your message, they might subscribe, too.

Don't know how to build an email list?
No worries! Neither did I when I first started.
All I knew how to do was to create an opt in form
and how to post the embed code onto my web pages.

BUT... That's a start! We all have to start somewhere.
It's what we do and keep doing that either gets us results or doesn't.

"If you want something you never had before,
you must do what you have never done before."

If you want a successful business,
you must do what will help your business grow.

Otherwise you can act like you have a business all you want,
but until you start getting down to business....
You'll either sink or swim. Up to you.

A lot of people use Photoshop,
but ever since I found this cool free tool called:

I've been using it instead.

There's a lot of cool Gimp tutorials.
One of my favorite Gimp channels is called:

Nick also uses Inkscape to create vector graphics for his website
like icons and stuff like that. It's a free tool, too.

Inkscape

I'll be posting about all kinds of free tools, (and paid tools),
and I'll be composing a list of tools on the blog.

I had to mention Gimp. I use it all the time.
I even use it to scale images (to compress them)
so that they load faster on my websites.

There are lots of cool tools and tricks to be used.
As a coder, I've found a few for website design stuff.

There are lots of sites that I've found inspiring.
A good site for inspiration is:

Awwwards

It's a site that showcases sites
that have won an award for design.
And people can submit their sites.

Lots of cool designs for sure!

I'm going to be putting up a list of cool tools to use.
I'll start with a list of free tools that I use for designing web stuff.

As a coder, I really appreciate and admire designers.

My business is a PLR business,
but I'm writing about internet marketing stuff.
PLR is just one opportunity among many.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Let me know in the comments!

Abby @ Lucky Star PLRhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00113102496385907329noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687662540420889183.post-40762366627441107852020-07-04T05:52:00.002-07:002020-07-06T15:25:04.178-07:00What's PLR? MRR? BRR? PUR?

Not everyone knows what PLR is
and that's why I want to write about it.
I want to define some other terms, too.

So what is PLR?
PLR is Private Label Rights.

What does that mean?
It means that you get a license with the product
which allows you to rebrand it, and repurpose it,
and you can sell it as your own...

A lot of businesses need content for their websites....
A lot of business owners don't have the time to write their own stuff.
(Or they don't know what to write).

So instead of hiring someone to write for them,
(which gets expensive when you need more content)
they buy PLR products like articles and ebooks, even software
that they can use for their websites, etc.
(Under the conditions of the license that comes with the product).

So it is important to read the license to see what you CAN do with it
and what you CAN'T do with it.

However.... There's MRR
which stands for Master Resell Rights.

Which means that you can sell it to others
to sell AS PLR!

Selling to others to sell to others.
And selling to others to sell to others TO sell to others.
If it seems complicated, it's really not.

BRR means Basic Resell Rights.
So you are limited with what you can do with it
under the terms of the license,
but you can still resell it.

PUR stands for Personal Use Rights.
Which means it is ONLY for personal use.
There is no license that comes with it that allows you to resell it.

Coming up, in the next couple weeks, I'll be putting together some packages.

I've got a lot of stuff about internet marketing.
I have a lot of PLR and MRR products and will be setting up a store.

There are different sites I will be talking about
where you can set up a store for your PLR products.

I will be writing about these sites soon.
I may even make some videos to show you how to set things up.
(If you want to see how to set up the products in a store,
let me know in the comments).

No start up fees to set these stores up.
They will only charge you to process the payments.
Not to use their sites.
So if you don't sell anything, you're not stuck paying out your ears and eyes.

We will be discussing how to get others to sell for you.
Yes, you can get your own affiliates!
You will have to pay them commisions for the sales they make.
WELL WORTH IT. They are helping you make money.

The more affiliates you have, the better chance you stand to make money.
AND.... The amount you can make increases.

Also, the more affiliate programs you join, the more chance you have
of making money through them, too.

There are lots of streams of income.
It's not always easy to get the sales, at first, but when you do....
You'll be thanking your lucky stars.

I was looking for a way to register my business online.
Didn't want to haul my butt down to city hall and stand in line.
(We are limiting the number of people in public places over here).

Anyway, after some research, I came across a company called:

Ownr

This company is a business registration company for CANADA.
SORRY, my American friends! (And friends abroad)!

Also, important to note is that they are serving:
Ontario, Alberta, and B.C right now.
They have plans for adding more provinces.

They have plans for adding a site builder and selling domains.
They have an affiliate program:

You get $20/registration
and you get $50/incorporation.
(Something to look into, eh?)

They pay out with PayPal and Stripe.
And must be at least $25 to pay out.
So you gotta have at least 2 registration referrals
or at least 1 incorporation referral.

It was super EASY and FAST.

I'm glad I registered with them because now....
I'm a business

A law was made about cookies.
By the European Union.
Specifically, about notifying EU visitors to your site
that your site uses them.

It's important to be compliant with this law as it carries a hefty punch.
In the terms of there being a HUGE fine.

Luckily, there is a site (that I personally use)
that generates a script for you that you can put onto your website.

Cookie Law Generator

Just copy the script they give you and paste it into your website (or blog).

This counts as a privacy policy:

I keep all your information private.
I just use cookies for statistics. To see how the blog is doing
in terms of visitors and stuff like that.
Specifically, in terms of view counts for posts...
(It helps to keep me motivated ↲↲).

If you want a cool blog like this, you can get one at:

(They'll even let you know that you need to be compliant.
That's super cool of them!)
